Abby is originally from the northeastern part of the USA, but has spent many years living abroad. After volunteering at Heifer Project in Arkansas and then at a farm animal sanctuary, decided she wanted to spend her time working with animals. Abby completed a B.S from the University of Maryland, followed by a post-graduate Honours degree at Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Australia doing cattle research. She then worked as a veterinary nurse at a large small animal practice in the U.S before going back to Perth, Australia for veterinary school, graduating in 2014 from Murdoch University.
Abby initially worked at a predominantly large animal mixed practice in Ireland before moving to San Diego, California to practice small animal medicine at a non-profit. Abby moved to Victoria in 2021 to start working at Hillside.
Abby’s interests are radiology and surgery, and she is passionate about constantly learning in the veterinary field by working with colleagues on cases.
Abby lives with her husband and her 14-year-old Husky-mix Keira (who has travelled around the world with her). Outside of work Abby likes to travel and participate in many outdoor activities (maybe a few too many sometimes!), such as hiking, running, rock climbing, skiing, etc. But, she also occasionally gets to enjoy more relaxing activities like reading and watching movies.
