Cold laser therapy is being used at Hillside Veterinary Hospital to treat a variety of conditions including wounds, back pain, muscle pain, and osteoarthritis.  Lasers are also used post-operatively on incisions to speed the healing process and to prevent infection as well as over acupuncture points to stimulate circulation and healing.  They provide a non-invasive way to ease pain and inflammation in tissues and their use is readily accepted by our 4 legged patients.  A treatment takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes and is usually performed by a rehab technician or animal health technologist under the direction of a veterinarian.

Although lasers have been used for some time to treat people, their use is relatively recent in veterinary medicine.  At Hillside Veterinary Hospital we use class 3B lasers which give off wavelengths of light but do not produce enough heat to burn, cut, or otherwise harm tissue.  Laser therapy is a proven, safe, addition to our holistic treatment options for your pet!

" Thank you so much for seeing Robbie so quickly, for taking such good care of him while he had all his diagnostic tests, and for the great communication with us, his very worried foster parents. Your expertise and empathy were much appreciated! "
